Adjusting Tools

Picture
This renown low impact chiropractic adjusting tool is called an Activator II.  It is non-invasive and helps to  assist in adjusting the really hard to reach small bones that may be out of tune (alignment) or fixated.  It also helps in stimulating proprioceptors which can retrain the way the brain understands the body's position, function, and overall level of pain.

Benefits of Treatment

Full spinal adjustment

The spine is fully mobilized to reset any joints that are fixated in movement and improving its overall function while reducing the stress within the spinal cord; helping its surrounding nerves.  The process of mobilizing the entire spine will allow the body in time to return to an equilibrium of having balanced muscle tone, and to self-heal from any sustained stress or irritation.

History of the chiropractic profession

Chiropractic philosophy and its approach to healthcare was established as a non-surgical and drug-less healing art. On September 15-17, 2022, Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa will be celebrating its 125th anniversary as the first school in the nation for the chiropractic profession.

The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) is an American agency recognized by the US Department of Education for accreditation of programs and institutions offering the Doctor of Chiropractic degree...The CCE is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is a member of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA). All chiropractors must hold a degree from a CCE accredited chiropractic college to be licensed to practice in this country.

  Manual extremity distraction method

Alleviating pressure on the joints in the arms and legs by controlled light axial traction.  This method helps in restoring function to the limbs by breaking up adhesion found within the ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, and wrists.

.   Dr. Yen can make suggestions over nutritional supplements and discuss how to approach different stretching and or strength exercises.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Picture
Dr. Yen can provide various manual therapy methods such as stripping away muscle knots and smoothing them out to help increase vascular circulation.

Other more specific methods include the eastern art of healing through stimulating acupressure points (Nimmo), Gua Sha, Graston, and the Trigenics approach in retraining the way the brain perceives motion and pain in the muscles, thereby improving overall function and promoting optimal well-being - It is quite similar to those familiar with the Active Release Techniques (ART) method.  These are all specialized soft tissue techniques.
